I have always been inspired and fascinated by the fantasy women of Luis Royo, my favorite artist, and I always wanted to create a piece that draws those influences but is based on my own personal style. This work is my first approach for doing this.
*
‘Aella’ is an Amazon warrior in Greek mythology slain by Heracles. Her name means "whirlwind". The only references I used from mythology about Aella were just her name. All clothes, weapon and style is my own interpretation of a modern Amazon warrior.
*
This piece took me a lot of time and effort since the lighting and shadows where big challenge to get just right. It was done completely in Photoshop from scratch, and some partial photo references where used for the pose and anatomy.
